Expert PHP and MySQL Application Design and Development by Marc Rochkind

This book isn’t just about technology (especially PHP and MySQL). It’s like a written apprenticeship. Marc Rochkind starts this book off with the requirement phase of a project and some project fundamentals. There are some very interesting war stories sprinkled in. It also covers the tool chain, some database fundamentals and security. And a walk through to one theoretical project.

I really liked this book because it was so different and so real. It wasn’t the typical theoretical book but rather here’s what I’ve done. If you’re new that’s an invaluable book!
